The St Cuthbert's Project
St Cuthbert's church was built nearly 120 years ago for the people of Cheadle and Cheadle Heath, to provide a focus point for the community,
a place for people to meet. It has been offering a warm welcome to anyone who has come through the doors since 1887 and still welcomes everyone
who comes to the church today.
We have just completed a major building project to rebuild and significantly extend the church. The completion of the St Cuthbert's Project has
given us disabled access to the church plus more space for prams and baby changing facilities, more room for children's clubs and for senior
citizens' activities, more meeting rooms and a bigger, better kitchen.
The aim of the project was to make St Cuthbert's a more accessible, more welcoming space - why not come and visit us and let us know
what you think of the building. With more, and better, space, the St Cuthbert's Project will mean that more people can use the church,
more of the time. St Cuthbert's belongs to the community and we want to make sure that as many people as possible can use it.
Can I use the building?
If you are interested in visiting us, or if you would like to hire any of the church's rooms for a meeting or an event, please
call in or contact the church on 0161 428 5212 or email: enquiries@stcuthberts.org
Raise money for the St Cuthbert's Project
The building may be completed, but the fundraising isn't - we still have about £50,000 to raise.
If you would like to know more about the Project, if you would like to help support us financially
or if you would like to get involved in fundraising, please email: enquiries@stcuthberts.org
The 'C' Team!
On the 25th March 2006 our over 50s performed a sponsored abseil down St Mary's church tower to raise money for the St Cuthbert's Project. More
pictures and details will be posted soon, but for now feel free to download the following mp4 video of them in action. Note that it is 8.79Mb in size.
