Fellowship and Pastoral Care, Development Group

Action Plan
The responsibilities of this group are as follows:
welcome (in association with the Wardens)
day to day care
pastoral visiting
clubs and activities
special events
making connections between church members

Welcome
Initiate an annual training event for welcomers following the AGM. Date for current year - 20 May 2007.
Prepare a job description to be discussed at the aforementioned.
Seek to enlarge the welcome team further

Day to day care
Re-inforce the message that the basic unit of day to day care within the church is the small group or club.
Consider the possibility of enlarging the provision of meals for those who have had a baby, just come out of hospital etc.
Appoint someone to be responsible for co-ordinating lifts to church

Pastoral Visiting
Support the team through regular training and monthly meetings
Continue distribution of plants at Harvest, Christmas and Easter and think about recruiting an organiser for this
Continue regular visits and home communions
Continue to develop Bereavement visiting - in liaison with St Mary's - and baptism visiting.
Devise a leaflet detailing the remit of the Pastoral Care Team
Make a decision about broadening the function of the team to include those just out of hospital etc.

Fellowship Sunday - 20 May - when people wear name badges
Services at Edinburgh Close - Christmas, Easter, Summer
Maundy Thursday Agape
Easter Fellowship Breakfast
Ladies Christmas Meal

Encourage everyone to take, and use, the Prayer Diary
Install new, electronic Who's Who board by 20 May 2007
