M-A-P Meeting
Monday 2 June, 8.00pm to share news and pray for the work of world mission and especially our link mission partners.

Wednesday Lunchtimes
As a trial until summer we will be having a soup and bread lunch on Wednesdays after Holy Communion 12.30pm-1.00pm. The first lunch will be on 4 June and we need a rota of volunteers to help this run smoothly.

Places at St Cuthbert's Nursery
This year our Nursery has been extremely full with the result that next year, when all the kids move in to Primary School, we will have more places available than usual. If you or anyone you know, is looking for high quality childcare with a Christian ethos, please contact the Old School on 428 7682.

BBQ after the morning service 18 May
Now that the sun is shining again its time for our BBQ season to begin with the first of three dates during the summer. All are welcome, the cost is 1.50/ 2.50 and, as ever, volunteers are needed to tend the flames. Requests for salads and sweets will be forthcoming in due course.

Molly's Ball
A charity ball in aid of SCBU, The New Children's Hospital Appeal, at The Palace Hotel Manchester on Friday 27th June 2008. Children's and Youth leaders request your help
Although it is not always possible to do so, if you are responsible for children attending one of our Sunday groups, especially a smaller one, and you are going to be away on holiday or even for the weekend, please could you try and inform the leader the previous Sunday otherwise time maybe wasted in unnecessary preparation. Many thanks.

Visit of Richard from Stockport MIND
Richard Wickham will be our speaker on Sunday 18 May at 6.30pm and will be dealing with the subject of 'Christians and Mental Health'.

Supernova

New Bishop of Stockport
The new Bishop of Stockport is to be the Revd Robert Atwell, an author, spiritual director and former monk. He is currently Vicar of St Mary's in Primrose Hill, north London. He will be ordained a bishop in York Minster on 24 June, and be welcomed to the Diocese of Chester on 29 June at a special service in Chester Cathedral.

Confirmation Service
The confirmation service will be held here at St Cuthbert's on June 22 at 6.30pm with the Bishop of Chester, Peter Forster.

Maintenance Jobs
There are a small number of maintenance jobs that need doing around the church, if anyone could tackle them please see Mike or the wardens.

Hire of Church Rooms
The Wardens and Mike have decided that, for the time being, St Cuthbert's will not be letting out the building to non church members other than for corporate activities. There an opportunity to discuss the matter further, if you wish, at the next Church Committee.

New Flooring
There is new flooring due to be laid in the lower lounge/creche which will be the same as the flooring in the foyer.

Diocesan Lay Conference 16-18 May 2008
Theme - Mission Shaped Living. A major three yearly event at the Swanwick Conference Centre with speakers, workshops and a chance to meet others from across the Diocese. Two 'reps' are needed for St Cuthbert's, preferably not people who have attended previously, and we will gladly, if requested, meet the cost. More details from Mike or the Wardens.
